Al Habtoor Palace Budapest introduces its Young Artists Month cultural initiative this August. Throughout the month, the works of four Hungarian artists – Anna Táncos, Szandra Feth, Rita Cserbik & Lívia Berkes – will be showcased in the elegant surroundings of Velvet Bar & Café, creating a unique experience where art, gastronomy, and refined hospitality come together.
A New Cultural Experience at Velvet Bar & Café
At Al Habtoor Palace Budapest, luxury is defined not only by exceptional hospitality, but also by a deep appreciation for culture and the arts. In line with this vision, the hotel introduces a special artistic initiative this August, creating a platform for contemporary Hungarian creators: as part of Young Artists Month, four Hungarian artists will showcase their work in the inspiring surroundings of Velvet Bar & Café. During the day, the bar welcomes guests as an elegant café, transforming into an atmospheric cocktail bar by evening. The venue’s distinctive character provides the perfect backdrop for the displayed artworks, adding a new dimension to the guest experience while bringing contemporary art closer to a wider audience. Each week – with a refreshed exhibition every Monday in August – a different artist will take centre stage and brings new energy and perspective to the elegant spaces of the bar and café.
The Vision Behind Young Artists Month
The Young Artists Month exhibition series aims to provide a meaningful platform for contemporary Hungarian artists whose unique perspectives enrich the local art scene. What connects the selected artists is not only their creative talent, but also their diverse professional backgrounds: several of them come from other creative fields, including architecture, interior design, and applied arts, while painting represents one of their most important forms of self-expression. This diversity of experience brings an exciting dimension to their work, where different creative approaches and personal stories come together.

The Featured Artists: Four Perspectives, Four Creative Journeys
3 – 9 August | Anna Táncos
With a background in architecture and a deep passion for visual arts, Anna Táncos’ creative world is shaped by the dialogue between built environments and artistic expression. After graduating from the Faculty of Architecture at Budapest University of Technology and Economics, she began exploring the intersection of architectural spaces, urban landscapes, and contemporary visual language through painting. Her artistic perspective was deeply influenced by her Erasmus year in Rome, where the harmony between classical architecture, sculpture, and painting became a lasting source of inspiration. Since 2022, she has also explored ceramic art, and since 2025 she has been represented by Rechnitzer Gallery.
10 – 16 August | Szandra Feth
Szandra Feth is an interior designer, abstract painter, and the founder of hrmny.art. Her artistic practice combines a refined visual language, rich textures, and a colour palette inspired by nature. As an interior designer, she believes that art is not merely a decorative element, but an essential part of a space – one that has the power to create atmosphere and evoke emotions. Young Artists Month marks the first public exhibition of her work.
17 – 23 August | Rita Cserbik
Rita Cserbik is a painter whose work explores the visual expressions of moods, inner emotional processes, and states of being through the language of abstract expressionism. A defining chapter in her international artistic journey was her study period in Los Angeles between 2019 and 2020, which opened new perspectives in her creative thinking. In recent years, she has presented her work at numerous national and international exhibitions, including in Paris, Portorož, Pula, and Monaco. Her latest works reflect on the experiences of her travels and cultural encounters, while continuing to explore the boundaries between the visible and the unseen.
24 – 30 August | Lívia Berkes
Lívia Berkes’ artistic approach has been shaped by her background in art history, textile design, and interior design. Through colour, form, and texture, she explores the visual expressions of emotions, memories, and inner processes. Her works bring together abstraction and gestural painting, while placing particular emphasis on the dialogue between an artwork and the space in which it exists.
A Taste of Art at Velvet Bar & Café
As part of Young Artists Month, Velvet Bar & Café will also introduce a collection of signature cocktails created especially for this occasion. Inspired by the vibrant, fresh and diverse creative worlds of the four featured artists, each cocktail translates the spirit of their artworks into a unique sensory experience, allowing the artistic journey to continue through flavour and imagination.
The Young Artists Month exhibition will be open daily from 3 – 30 August 2026 during Velvet Bar & Café’s opening hours. Guests are invited to visit during the day for a coffee and discover the artworks in natural light, or return in the evening, when Velvet’s atmospheric bar setting and the specially created signature cocktails offer a new perspective on the artistic experience.
