The new ÉS Bisztró: refined, refreshed and reopened

Our favorite bistro and steakhouse, ÉS Bisztró has finally reopened its doors at Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest at the end of March. Following a comprehensive “reset,” one of the most popular dining establishment returns with a brighter space, a more relaxed atmosphere, and a sharpened focus on what matters most: quality.

A meaningful reset

The renovation, led by interior designer Ákos Bara, was guided by the principle of “offering better, not more.” In the spirit of sustainability, high-quality furniture was refurbished rather than replaced, while the lighting and layout were fine-tuned to create a more welcoming, effortless vibe. The walls now pay tribute to Central European culture with a curated selection of portraits, blending artistic tradition with timeless elegance.

Perfecting our favorites

ÉS Bisztró returns with a newfound clarity. Expect the same iconic flavours you love, now refined with a level of precision that makes every bite feel both familiar and brand new.

While the concept remains a relaxed steakhouse drawing from the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy’s heritage, the culinary experience has been elevated. Chef de Cuisine Gergely Kovács and the team have retained the familiar flavor profiles our guests love, now presented with refining the detail and balance in every dish.

“It is when a place steps back from its own operations and returns cleaner, simpler and more precise, with less noise.”Zoltán Roy Zsidai, Owner of Zsidai Group
