Tiba Architects Studio celebrated its 20th anniversary with an unusual event: it organized its first architectural photo exhibition entitled “Képbe hozva – TIBA20” at the Deák Palace on Fashion Street. The exhibition presents the studio’s work from the past two decades from the unique perspective of the general public.
TIBA Architects Studio was founded in 2005 by János Tiba with the aim of combining complex architectural and engineering services with unique design concepts and professional project management. Over the past twenty years, the studio has become a key player in domestic real estate development, with numerous projects shaping the cityscape of Budapest and other cities, including office buildings, residential buildings, hotels, and historic building renovations. Their name is associated with, among other things, the reconstruction of the Párisi Nagy Áruház, the Váci Greens office complex, the Hungarian Telekom Headquarters, and the renovation of the Liget Center Auditorium.
The highlight of the anniversary year was the “Képbe hozva” photo competition, which aimed to present TIBA’s buildings in a creative way and from a new perspective. From the 150 entries submitted to the competition, the jury selected 21 photos for the exhibition.
The photographers competed in three categories:
Building: Exterior or interior view, character and context of the building.
Detail: Special textures, use of materials, small architectural details.
Creative: Montages, digital transformations, even with the use of artificial intelligence.
The jury of the competition consisted of renowned experts: Zsófi Barabás DLA painter, Zita Sárvári art consultant, András Király visual artist, György Palkó architectural photographer, and representing the Studio, Zoltán Király Ybl and Pro Architectura award-winning lead designer, and Viktória Ladányi managing partner.
The ‘Képbe hozva – TIBA20’ photo exhibition is open to the public free of charge until January 31, 2026. It can be viewed on weekdays between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the Deák Palota – Fashion Street Gallery (1052 Budapest, Deák Ferenc utca 15, 1st floor).
